Leonard Landon Adams, age 75, was born in Oldfield, Missouri, on November 5, 1936, to his parents Jess and Callie (Loveland) Adams. He went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2012 at his home. Landon moved from Missouri at the age of 14 to Yakima. He remained out here to work in a sawmill at Gilcrest, Oregon; worked as a welder building train box care in Portland, Oregon; worked at FMC Door Factory, Del Montes Cannery, and OIC Weatherizing in Yakima. He also worked at Shannon & Collins Family Orchards. When not working, he dearly loved to fish and hunt. A highlight of his life was when he was able to go to Craig, Alaska to fish with his daughter and her husband. He could always catch a fish when no one else could. Everyone said they thought he could catch a fish out of a mud puddle. Landon joined the Army in August 1962. Right after boot camp, he was shipped to Germany and served two years during the Berlin Crisis. He spent these years in reserves and was honorable discharged on August 31, 1967. He dearly loved his children, grandchildren, relatives, and many friends. He was constantly talking how proud he was of each and every one of them. He is survived by his wife, Eleanore of Yakima; his sister, Jessie Shannon (Ralph) of Yakima; his sons, Jerry Adams (Debbie) and Stanley Adams (Carol) both of Toutle, WA; Earl Dean (Debbie) of Castle Rock, WA, Gary Adams of Vancouver, WA; his daughter, Jeanette Hayden (Chuck) of Craig, AK; 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nephews and nieces and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lucille Adams and Louise Johnson; his step mother, Joyce Holt; one daughter, Carrie Adams; one son, Larry Gene Adams; one half-sister Erma and one step brother, Noel Holt.
