Lee was born on May 28, 1934 to Veronica and Antoine Hauser in Dickinson, ND. He passed away peacefully at his son Leroy Hauser Jr. and daughter-in-law Laurie’s home in Tonasket, WA on June 8, 2018. Lee spent 4 years in the Navy, 1951-1955, two years aboard the USS PHILIPPINE C. V. as an electrician and 2 years in Hawaii. When his time in the service had ended, he came back to Seattle, WA and became a laborer in construction. He became a member of the Operator Engineers Union Local 302 and worked his way up as a heavy equipment operator. In the early 70’s he went to work on the Alaska pipeline for 2 years then stayed locally until he was offered the opportunity to be an instructor at the Wiconi equipment training school. The last 2 years prior to retirement, he was an assistant director at the school. He retired at 57 and spent 12 years traveling around the U.S. in a motor home with his wife Pearl.
Lee always wanted to learn how to fly small planes. He took the classes and finally got his pilot license in the early 1970’s.
Lee is survived by his brother Louie Hauser of Yakima, his sons Leroy “Butch” Hauser, of Tonasket WA, Brian Hauser of Big Lake, AK and daughter Tracie Koontz of Pahoa Hawaii, 4 stepchildren: Kimberly Folk, René LaCoursiere, Shirelle Turel, all from Yakima, and Gerald Folk Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He has joined his wife Pearl who passed away on June 9, 2010, and brothers Robert “Bob,” and Antoine “Tony” Hauser.
We would personally like to thank the Frontier Home Health and Hospice of Omak, WA for the special care and compassion they gave to our father and my family during this difficult and sad time.
