Leslie was born to Ellis (Gus) and Murial (Mac) Gherman in Anchorage Alaska.
Leslie attended Zillah High School where she converted to Christianity and began dating Bill Bower, whom she would later marry.
Having obtained a degree and a license to practice dental hygiene, Leslie settled down to raise a family as her husband, Bill, worked on the family farm. Leslie would go on to homeschool their three boys, Skyler, Jared, and Trenton.
Sometime after Bill began pastoring at Zillah Assembly of God, Leslie started working per diem as a dental hygienist, keeping her license up to date.
Following her husband’s untimely death in 1998, Leslie began working full time as a hygienist in Grandview. This career enabled her to partner with her oldest son, Skyler Bower and a good family friend, in the acquisition of several investment properties. These investments provided her with the satisfaction of seeding to her grandchildren a meaningful legacy—fulfilling her dream of leaving an inheritance both spiritual and physical.
In 2018, Leslie was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. She spent the last four years of her life on earth teaching and exhorting her family and the body of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Mark Gherman, and sister Ruth Wise.
She is survived by her children, Skyler (Suzanne) Bower, Jared (Janelle) Bower, Trenton (Bethany) Bower, her sisters Lisa Bower and Lori Gherman, and her brother Ray Gherman. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and innumerable nieces and nephews.
"God's Love Never Fails."
Graveside services to be held at the Zillah Cemetery at 11:00am. Following the graveside, a 12:00pm Memorial Service will be hosted at Valley Covenant Church. Followed by fellowship over soup and bread, one of her favorite meals.
