

Mom was born in Yakima on July 28, 1941, to Les and Lois Fernstrom. She and her younger sister Lana were raised on the Family orchard in Cowiche. Mom attended school in Cowiche, graduating from Highland High in 1959. She was active in drama, band, glee and pep clubs.
While she lived on the west side for a few years, the Yakima Valley always drew mom back, she held a variety of jobs through her adult years but found her true calling as an in-home caregiver. mom was a dedicated companion to seniors in the valley. Her final and most fulfilling assignment was providing loving case to her mother until her death.
In her leisure time, Mom enjoyed a variety of outings, mostly with her mother. They traveled to see family, camped every summer at Silver Cove and took many trips over to Mariners games with the senior center. They took ceramics classes and had a room dedicated to painting and decorating their favorite pieces. Mom was a voracious reader of historical novels, loved to cook and was a dedicated fan of the Seahawks. She spent her final day listening to her beloved Mariners get the win.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, sister and her son, James Kennett. She is survived by daughter Renee Hoffsetz, sons Clark (Rashelle) Kennett and Tracy (Elisa) Smith. Grandchildren Alissa, Tyler and Trevor Kennett, Jarek and Cameron Smith and Emma and Joel Johnston. Great grandchildren Jayce and Brielle Williams. Brother-in-law, Jerry Gendron, nephew Scott Gendron, great nephews Shane and Thomas Gendron.
Our family is profoundly grateful for the loving care of the staff at Crescent Health Nursing and Memorial Multicare Hospice for making her final days comfortable and free of pain.
