Linda Joyce Lighty

Linda was raised in Wichita, Kansas where she graduated from East High School. She married Gary Lighty and they had two children before moving to Yakima in 1976 and later divorcing. She also lived in Las Vegas and Boulder City, Nevada. She returned to Yakima in 2012. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as her dog. She worked as a legal assistant for all of her adult life, most recently for Abeyta Nelson Injury Law, where she worked on wildland fire cases. Linda had a special way of making clients feel appreciated and valued. She was a compassionate and caring person who will be forever missed.

Linda is survived by her loving children, Greg (Cathy) Lighty of Yakima, WA; and Kimberly Lighty of Boulder City, Nevada; and her grandchildren, Ty Lighty and Calleigh Lighty, both of Yakima, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home at 1010 West Yakima Avenue, Yakima, WA 98902, on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society or Yakima Humane Society c/o Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home.
