Linda married Benjamin on July 10th, 1959 in Olympia, WA. The two settled in Yakima, WA. Linda was known by community and friends for her out going, caring and generous personality. She actively volunteered in the community and enjoyed skiing and playing tennis at every opportunity.
She joined the sales team at the Sporthaus in the early 70’s and was a joy and loved by her working partner’s customers for the next 25 years.
Linda had many interest and adventures. As a child, she was an avid fisherman and was known to be seen with her unconventional grandfather in his sixteen foot dingy maneuvering the seas at Westport. She also loved the outdoors and enjoyed everything from camping and mushroom hunting in the Cascades to beach combing in Hawaii. Linda also enjoyed reading and sharing books. She especially enjoyed history and biographies. A family friend Edward Chadwick convinced her they should start a book club, they were the only members but they had a great time discussing world history.
Linda had many friends and will be sorely missed by all of them. From one of her best friends, Beverly, who she loved for over sixty years, to her Lu Lu lunch buddies she met every Saturday including: Eve, Nancy, Gretchen, Dee, Monnie Jo, Mary and Mike. All of whom she loved very much.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband Benjamin, loving daughters Traci (John) Thomas and Marli McCormick and the sunshine in her life, granddaughter Karli Thomas.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Saturday, July 22nd at the home of her daughter Traci. A private family graveside service was held at Tahoma Cemetery.
