OBITUARY

Lloyd Lovelace

December 15, 1936March 14, 2019

On Thursday, March 14, 2019 Lloyd Lovelace, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Lloyd was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1936 to Julia and John, one of 12 children. Lloyd graduated from West Plains High School in 1956 and served in the army from 1958 to 1960 before relocating to Yakima, Washington where he met his wife Diane.

Lloyd and Diane married on June 29, 1963 and raised one daughter, Julia. Lloyd worked for John I. Haas for twenty-five years and served as a deacon at First Baptist of Union Gap.

Lloyd enjoyed helping coach his daughter’s softball team, watching Seahawks football and attending church with his family. He loved watching The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. He was a man of few words and many people said that he was the nicest man they’d ever met. Above all Lloyd loved serving his lord and we rejoice in the knowledge that he has gone home.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 56 years, Diane, his daughter Julia, his son-in-law Bobby, his twin sister Lois, his sister Janette, brother Jerry and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 20 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. A service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Keith & Keith Funeral Home at 902 W. Yakima Avenue at 11 o’clock am with a graveside service at West Hills Memorial Park following.

A potluck lunch will be held at First Baptist Church of Union Gap at 2607 S. 2nd St., Union Gap immediately following the burial.

If you wish, flowers may be sent to Keith and Keith and memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Union Gap. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.keithandkeith.com.

Diane, so sorry to learn of the passing of your husband, Lloyd. Our condolences go out to you and all the family at this time of great loss. I did not know Lloyd personally but you and I shared a few years working together at the old USDA/ARS Research Lab that was then located on W. Nob Hill Blvd. in Yakima.
Take care, Diane.

Lloyd and Diane were our next door neighbors for many years. All I can say is God blessed us with awesome neighbors. My family considered them a part of our family. They were always there for us when we needed them. I just wanted to say thanks again Lloyd for fixing my bike when I was a kid. Mind me. I was jumping my bike and one of the welds broke. My parents told me to ask Lloyd to see if he could fix it. He took my bike down to his work and welded it. That's just one of the memories I have. My condolences go out to all the family and friends. Like my Pastor tells us. When a loved one passes on who gave there life to Christ. It's a celebration. I'll see you again neighbor. Thanks again Lloyd. John Bacon.
