The youngest of six children born to Harry and Grace (Adams) Crevling, Lois was preceded in death by all of them. Born June 25, 1932 Lois graduated from Goldendale High School and went on to be one of three women to graduate from the U of W Law School out of a class of 70 in 1956.
One month later she passed the Washington State Bar Exam, then returned to Goldendale to open her practice. After proposing on Sadie Hawkins Day, Lois married the love of her life, Jim Layman, who predeceased her by almost five years. With the help of her carpenter father Lois designed and supervised the construction of their landmark home in Naches, Wa. From there they worked together, traveled the world, worshipped God, entertained and were active in the life of their church. Lois was elegantly beautiful, brilliant, demanding, suffered no fool and loved God, her husband and home in that order.
A memorial service will be held at the Christian Life Center in Yakima on March 2nd at 11 AM. Remembrances may be made to Wags to Riches, in Yakima, Wa.
