He was born on March 22, 1935 to Gladys and George Campbell in Malden, Missouri, where he would return many times to the Campbell reunion.
Lonnie met the love of his life, a beautiful young lady, Dorothy (Dot) Estes, to whom he was married for 61 years. Till death they did part.
He moved his young bride to California to the San Joaquin Valley, where he worked for several years. It was here that his children, Rick and Donna, were added to their family. They later moved to Washington State, to their little farm in Gleed. At this time, Jim and Tracy joined their family. His in-laws, Milburn and Elsie Estes, who loved him as a son, became his neighbors.
Lonnie joined large and close-knit family, with 6 sisters-in-law that he loved as his own sisters.
Lonnie was a hard-working man, and a dedicated employee during his logging career for Webb and Layman’s logging.
He was a man with a big heart, who loved his family deeply. He had a strong love and enjoyment for his family, his farm, his cows, tractors, and any stray animal he brought into the family.
Five years ago, Lonnie became a Christian while attending his wife’s place of worship, Intersection Church in Union Gap. With love and wisdom, Pastor Curtis Johnstone befriended him, and felt honored to baptize Lonnie at the age of 80 years old. He served proudly as an Elder and an Usher. He was a faithful member until his death.
Honey, Dad, Pa – will be sorely missed by his wife, Dorothy, his children Lonnie Rick (Roberta) Campbell of St. Louis, Donna (Collin) Bales of Gleed, Jim (Ardith) Campbell of Gleed, and Tracy (Dexter) Holmes of Tacoma; his ten grandchildren Rachelle and Zachary Campbell, Justin, Lizzy, and Nate Holmes, Jamie and Caleb Bales, and AJ, Ben and Jordan Campbell; his two great-grandchildren Nathan and Anthony Campbell.
