Dad didn’t have much schooling but was a whiz at figuring. Dad spent two years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a gunners mate.
Dad married mom (Dortha Love) on July 19, 1952 in Childress, Texas. They stayed together thru thick and thin for 46 years until mom passed away on April 27, 1999.
Dad was a great musician, could play anything. His favorite was lead guitar. Dad loved fishing and hunting with the boys, especially at Biggs Junction for sturgeon. Dad worked hard all his life retiring at Hanford. Dad had some 50 + years in the laborers union. Dad enjoyed playing and singing with the kids at the family get togethers.
Dad was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, his wife and a grandson.
Surviving members are children; Peggy, Ed, Collie, Terry (Mary), and Dan (Chris) Butler of Yakima, Robin Butler of Redding, CA. 19 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Wilkins of Idabell, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks goes out to Memorial Home Care, Hospice and Cottage in the Meadow staff. What a great bunch of people to work with.
