Lucio Roberto Martinez, affectionately known as “Red” for his striking auburn red hair that matched his vibrant spirit, passed away leaving behind a legacy of laughter, compassion, and unforgettable stories. Lucio aka "Mijo" had a rare gift—he could make anyone smile. A natural jokester and master of pranks, he lit up every room he entered, often with nothing more than the mischievous sparkle in his eyes.
His love for his family was profound, and his humor, warmth, and kindness became the heartbeat of every gathering. Mijo’s laughter was the kind that stayed with you long after he left the room.
Beyond the jokes and playful spirit, Mijo carried a deep sense of compassion. While working as a repossession agent, he once found a can containing someone’s ashes. Determined to return them to the family, Mijo placed the ashes in the passenger seat beside him as he worked, treating the can as if it were a companion on the road. When he couldn’t locate the family, he made a decision that revealed the true depth of his heart: he drove up into the mountains and gently spread the ashes himself, offering a peaceful resting place to someone he had never met. It was his way of giving dignity, closure, and kindness—quiet acts that defined who he was.
Mijo was funny, thoughtful, stubborn in the best ways, and endlessly caring. He lived with a joy that invited others in and a compassion that left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving mother, Rosalinda Torres, two brothers, Richard Casares, and Lucas Martinez, one sister, Rosalinda F. Rocha, his three beloved sons, Tezoc Emilio Martinez, Tenoch Impala Martinez, and Kuzco Santino Hotrod Martinez, and his granddaughter, Renesmee Starlaa Ortiz, whom he had just recently met, a moment that brought him immense pride and tenderness. He also leaves behind his devoted spouse, Laura Ramirez, who stood by his side with love and loyalty. Their lives, shaped by his warmth, humor, and unforgettable spirit, will continue to carry his memory forward.
Though he has left this world, the laughter he inspired, the love he shared, and the stories he created will live on in the hearts of family and friends forever.
Rest in peace, Mijo. Thank you for every smile.
