Marguerite Ann Yost

Marguerite Ann Yost, 82, went to be with the lord on September 13, 2026. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, creativity, and family.

Marguerite was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Doretha Sample; her father, John Robert Busby; her brother, Bill Woodard; and her sister, Sue Taft.

Marguerite is survived by her sisters, Lawanna Pearcey, Linda Murphy, and Jean Davis, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her four children: Rick Yost; Angela Short and her husband, Jerry; Billy Yost; and Starla Yost.

She was a loving grandmother to Jared Short and his wife, Brianna; Jeremy Short and his wife, Cari; Destiny Guzman-Yost, Ariel Charles and Mickey Martin-Short. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Chloe, Frances, James, and Theodore Short.

Marguerite was a woman of many talents. She was an exceptionally gifted floral designer and cake decorator, able to transform flowers, frosting, and simple materials into beautiful works of art. She was also incredibly crafty and found joy in creating things with her hands. Her creativity reflected who she was—someone who brought beauty, warmth, and joy into the lives of those around her.

Above all, Marguerite was a Mom. Her children and grandchildren were an important part of her life, and the memories they shared with her will be treasured forever. Her love, creativity, and the special touches she brought to the lives of her family will never be forgotten.

Marguerite will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, sisters, extended family, and all the beautiful things she created throughout her life.

Rest peacefully, Mom. Your hands may be still, but the love and beauty you created will live on in all of us.

A celebration of life will be held at Keith and Keith Funeral Home 902 W. Yakima Avenue, Yakima Wa 98902; Monday September 28th at 12:00pm.
