

Marie Jeanette (McFall) Sanderson was born to John H. McFall and Anita (Larson) McFall in Yakima on October 12, 1934. She died at the age of 78, on August 25, 2013.
Marie graduated from Yakima High School in 1952. In her early years, Marie was employed by Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital and was also a home maker.
Marie married her high school sweetheart, James L. Sanderson on August 9, 1952, in Yakima. Shortly afterwards they moved to California where their first child Bonita Marie (Curt) Geise was born on August 28, 1953 in Downey, California. They returned to Yakima in 1954 where James David Sanderson was born on December 17, 1956, Annabelle Rae (Brian) Pickering on April 18, 1958 and Barbara Lynn (Eddie) Gulley on September 12, 1961.
She has 9 grandchildren, Clinton (Jenn) Geise and Daniel Geise, Jimmy Sanderson, Carly Shattuck, Hannah (Joel) Slatter, and Eddie, Dillon, Marcial and Sophia Gulley. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Mason Sanderson, Gavin Geise and Danielle Geise.
In 1971 Jim and Marie purchased Sanderson Plumbing and Heating where Marie worked as the bookkeeper.
Marie had a great passion for NHRA drag racing, where she participated in the powder puff division. She and Jim continued their love for muscle cars throughout their life, restoring many 1957 Chevrolets as well as Ford Model A’s. Marie also loved competing in snowmobile grass drag races. Marie enjoyed many years of camping up in the Little Naches area on Chinook Pass.
Marie is preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters, Dorothy, Anna Belle and Bonnie, two grandsons, Eddie James Gulley, III, Daniel Geise and a great granddaughter, Kayla Jewel Geise.
The family would like to thank Monica, Dwayne, Sylvia, Kathy and Glee, as well as the rest of the staff at Landmark Care Center for their passionate care and love they showed Marie in the last years of her life. Also, a special thanks to Lower Valley Hospice for their kindness and care in the last weeks of Marie’s life.
A funeral service will be held Friday, August 30th at 2:00 p.m. at Rainier Memorial Center (Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel).
Burial will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park with a reception following back at the chapel.
