1922, at the family home in Clackamas County, Oregon. The next to the youngest of six
children, she attended Sunnyside Grade School and graduated from Milwaukie High
School in May of 1939. Marjorie attended Cascade College for two semesters, followed
by Business College/Comptometer School for a quarter.
She worked at Peerless Pacific Plumbing, Portland, for two years and then Consolidated
Supply Company, Portland, as switchboard operator/receptionist.
Marjorie was set up by friends for a blind date with a handsome young marine, Bob Rosenkranz, who had just returned from the war. December 15, 1945 the first date was love at first sight for both of them and they were married May 11, 1946, at Portland First Church. Their love for one another has only grown stronger through the years as they have shared their love for the Lord with their family and friends and experienced God's abundant blessings.
Margie and Bob moved to Yakima and began their family; Sandy, Rodney, and Linda,
and a few years later, Sally and Terry. Margie was a wonderful homemaker who
lavished her love on her children and husband daily with delicious baked cookies, cakes,
cinnamon rolls, and meals, as well as sewing dresses/shirts for all the children for the
holidays. Through the years her special family treats have often been her Applesauce
Bread and Oatmeal Cookies.
Margie actively helped with the family's cherry orchard, was part-time switchboard
operator at the Yakima Post Office, and was involved in Sunday School and Church
along with her husband. They had hearts for missions and together traveled to Japan,
Korea, Taiwan, and Colombia on work crusades.
In later years Margie volunteered in her daughter's classroom correcting the children's
weekly Spelling tests. As a child she dreamed of being a teacher but with a busy family
of five children there was never time for that.
In July of 201 0 health issues made it necessary for Margie and Bob to move into an
Assisted living facility. At Wynwood of Yakima they received the excellent care they both
needed, became involved in many activities, and made new friends with staff and residents.
The family greatly appreciates all the wonderful care they have received at Wynwood.
Marjorie is survived by her devoted husband, Raymond; five children, Sandra Tharp
