OBITUARY

Marla Sue Anton

August 25, 1950November 3, 2019

Marla Sue Anton passed away abruptly Sunday in the company of her loving husband Michael, just a short time after celebrating 20 years of marriage.

Marla spent the majority of her life in the Yakima Valley. She poured her heart and soul into her family and friends. Everyone close to her felt and knew her love, especially her two sons and grandsons.

Marla was blessed with a creative spirit. She mastered the art of calligraphy, penned the most thoughtful poems, baked amazing cookies like her mother and got lost in imagination with her grandchildren. Professional development never defined Marla's life, but she took great pride in her rise from para-professional to executive secretary in several school districts over the years. With the support of her husband, she retired to return home and support her aging parents.

Marla fiercely loved her family. She loved her Zags and Seahawks. She loved decorating for holidays, especially Christmas. She loved playing the aggravation board game her father adapted and built from wood.

Marla was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Lillian Anton. She was survived by her husband, Michael Wentz, by her sons and their spouses, Scott (Shannon) Sevigny, David (Sherry) Sevigny, by her husband's daughter and spouse, Nickie (Chris) Morrison and by her grandchildren, Hunter and Preston.

A Rosary will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 6:00 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church Friday, November 15 at 10:00 am.

She was one of the the kindest people I have ever met. Never too busy to say Hi and have a chat. Her smile was always there.

To be Marla’s BFF was to have her heart and soul, I feel privileged to have been just one of those people!! I will miss her “good morning “ greetings almost every day. She was the most upbeat person, always looking on the bright side of things and making you see how lucky you were to share her joy at being here!!
She never gave up on the people she loved and let you know that you were special to her! She loved her family with all her being and made her friends a part of her family♥️♥️ But most of all she loved her life with Micheal , her boys and grandson Preston. They WERE Marla’s world and that was always a warm snuggly place to be!!! Rest In Peace Girlfriend!!! I will miss you every single day!!!

Marla was a high school classmate and her spirit of love will be missed. It was shocking to get the news. Gone too soon, but God knows the plans He has for us. It's never easy, but the thought of being together again someday gives us hope. Glad she was a part of my life over the years. Hugs to Mike and her boys and grandchildren. May God bless you in these difficult days. You are all loved!

You have always been in are lives. Living next to grandma and grandpa Dailey. Letting us come over and miss around with all your bears when you lived next to them to seeing you everyday at my Elementary school at the library also made it easier knowing I had someone there when I was at school and little. Thank you for always making everyone feel so special. Then having my mom and dad move right next to you in your new house. I never got to mention it but you are a very special person and thank you for always looking out for my mom and dad and grandpa and grandma when they where around. Rest In Peace and enjoying the time you know have with your mom and grandma and grandpa Dailey I know they where there waiting..

I had the pleasure of knowing and living next to Marla and Mike for the last 5 years or so. They quickly went from neighbors to family. I was her and Mikes resident technology fixer :) I was just there a couple days prior to her passing helping ease her frustration around moving documents to her laptop (which she wanted to throw in the garbage). I never would have thought that was the last time I would see her. Like everyone I will miss her deeply. She had an impact on my kids as the lady that gave them the full size candy bars at Halloween and she had an impact on me as one of the most loving and giving people I have ever had the the privilege of knowing. You will forever be in my heart Marla, I love you and I miss you. Rest In Peace sweet lady.

Where do I begin? We don't remember when we met. We were babies, our mothers were neighbors. From babies we immediately connected. Marla was the only sister I ever had this side of Heaven. We were, as she said, "Forever Friends".
Her mom said, "You are like two peas in a pod," Her celebratory cards for all special occasions were and are works of art.
We had, laugh-out-loud conversations in the middle of the night. Laughing about how our husband's would roll their eyes, yet another, one more time. Enjoyed texting, calling ourselves two "ole" people who are a rare pair of two forever friends."
Soooo happy you shared a wonderful 20th wedding anniversary with Michael and your happiness at his careful planning for a great day.
Marla, I miss you beyond words. Thank you for 68 years of great friendship.
Judith
