On a beautiful summer morning, as the sun rose, turning the landscape golden, our Dad, Marvin Bechard, passed from this world into the hands of our lord. He was born on September 20, 1928 to Peter and Agnes (Cote) Bechard in Aurora, Kansas. He was the youngest of six children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings in addition to his wife of 61 years, Betty, and his youngest daughter, Michelle Gonzales. He attended Marquette Catholic high school. He began his working career on the railroad followed by 37 years at Boise Cascade.
He was an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and an alter person. He spent much of his time administering the sacraments to infirm and housebound parishioners.
He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid card cheater (I mean player). He also liked to play aggravation. He enjoyed being the life of the party.
He is survived by his loving companion, Alice Sutley, son Dennis, son Darrell (Vickie), daughter Pam (Mike) Beaudry, son David (Anna), and daughter Brenda (David) Young; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A Vigil service will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeember Catholic Church on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Private inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
