Ed was born on June 30, 1941 in Joplin, MO to Marvin Noah and Freda Pearl (Meck) Lane. He was raised and educated in Yakima, WA. He graduated from Davis Senior High School in 1959. On May 8, 1997 he married Carol Lynn (Collins) Lane.
Ed was employed by Lockheed Shipbuilding and Construction Company before moving back to Yakima to begin employment with F&M Transfer. He retired from Oak Harbor Freight Lines in 2003.
Ed was a dedicated volunteer throughout his life. He was a volunteer firefighter with Terrace Heights Fire Department for several years. He also volunteered for the American Red Cross and Memorial Hospice. After retirement he spent several years volunteering at the Yakima Greenway.
He is survived by his wife, Carol, of Yakima, WA; three daughters: Wendy Lane (Steve) of Yakima, WA, Tammy Eldredge (Pat) of Hedgesville, WV and Vicky Crider (Matt) of New York, NY. He is also survived by grandchildren: James Ney, Paris Eldredge, Briana Eldredge and step-grandchildren: Nathaniel Crider, Taylor Crider and Seth Crider.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Jerri, Freda Borders & Pat Fox, as well as his best friend Butch Kendall.
Viewing will be Thursday, March 22, 2018 between 4:00-8:00 PM at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home.
A private service will be held at West Hills Memorial Park in Yakima, WA.
