Mary was born in Yakima, Washington and was raised with two older brothers (Jim and Jack), attending Yakima schools and graduating from Yakima High in 1956. While in high school she met Clarence David Frenzel and near the end of her senior year Mary and Dave were married while he was on leave from his service in the US Navy.
Mary and Dave had three boys, Ronald, Russell, and Randall, all of whom still reside in the Yakima Valley.
Mom was very instrumental in setting an excellent work ethic for her children, rising early (4:30 am) every day of the week to open up the kitchen at Franklin Middle School where she was the head cook providing meals for thousands of children. Finally retiring after 26 years with the Yakima School District.
This lady could cook and always had snacks around for friends and family growing up.
In 1985, after Dave had passed away, she met up with an old family friend Richard Dragoo. They were married on February 13, 1988. Mary's boys are forever grateful for the new family, friends, fun, and adventures that the Dragoo family brought to Mom. We will always treasure the stories of the wrestling matches between Mom and Lisa.
Mary and Dick traveled long and far watching all the grandkids with their sports and activities. Mary loved the beach, loved to watch the Seattle Mariners, loved to play cards, most importantly loved being with her family.
Mary passed away on July 11, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, husbands Dave Frenzel and Richard Dragoo, step daughters Connie and Glenna, and granddaughter Makinsie.
Mary is survived by her sons Ronald, Russell, and Randall (Diane); Linda, Ron (Shelly) Dragoo, Randy (Cindy) Dragoo; grandchildren: Ethan, Brennan, Adam, Charlee, Will, Rick, Becky, Chase, Libby, Colin, Clayton, Kortnie, Chad, Casey, Lisa and many great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Landmark Care Center and Heartlinks Hospice Care for the care and compassion that was provided for Mom.
A graveside service for Mary will be held Friday, July 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, 3001 Terrace Heights Drive, Yakma, WA 98901.
