

Mary Willman was born on May 4, 1919 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Peter and Anna Engel. Mary was the youngest; having three brothers and one sister. She graduated from Aberdeen High School. During World War II, Mary worked at Globe Union Battery making spark plugs and torpedo heads for the military. She met and married Jack Finley who was an Airman in the Air Force. Sadly, Jack was killed in a car accident in 1950. Mary’s second marriage was to Robert Willman in 1953 who was from Harrah, WA. He was a World War II vet with two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Her passion was taking care of her family and working with the church to help others.
Mary enjoyed cooking and getting together with her brothers and sister. The family also enjoyed camping trips together. Mary crocheted and sewed handmade items to donate to St. Paul’s Catholic Church for fundraisers. Mary would help anyone who needed help, her door was always open.
Mary and Robert were married for forty-seven happy years until Robert passed away from cancer in 2001.
Mary was preceded in death by brothers, Lloyd Engel, Albert Engel and Peter Engel; a sister, Sue Tambrello, and a grandson, Christopher Finley.
She is survived by her two sons Thomas (Jayne) Finley of Yakima and Douglas (Nancy) Willman of Yakima; two grandchildren, Jennifer Kozak of Grand Rapids, MN and Glen Kozak of Dallas, TX.
There will be visitation from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 2, 2012, at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Tuesday July 3, 2012 at Calvary Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.
