Mathew Miles

Matt was born in Yakima to Albert (“Skip”) and Doris Miles on May 9, 1973. He grew up in Zillah,

graduating from Toppenish High School in 1991. Matt’s years as a child were spent helping his family

with their orchards and hanging out with his childhood friends. As a young man he loved cars, skiing,

water skiing, and riding motorcycles. He would fondly reminisce about his family’s boating trips to Lake

O’Sullivan and his skiing adventures with his friends. Friends and family meant everything to him.

Matt graduated from WSU with a degree in Agricultural Economics in 1994 and was living in Seattle

when he met his wife, Kristi. Matt and Kristi were married in October 1997, settling in Yakima when he

was offered his first sales position with Snokist Growers. Matt was a pioneer in the Organic Sales

industry and spent 27 years in the business. He worked with many companies over the years and had a

stellar reputation for his knowledge and expertise in the industry.

Matt and Kristi have two daughters, Ashley and Sydney. His world revolved around his family. He spent

his weekends playing cards with his folks, attending his girl’s sporting events and helping friends and

neighbors whenever he could. Matt was one of the nicest men you could ever meet and would do

anything to help others. He was also an amazing chef and a jack of all trades. He could build and fix just

about anything. He was known for bringing breakfast to coworkers every Saturday morning during the

grueling cherry season each year.

Matt and his brother Eric were close, and Matt really relied on him for advice whenever he needed

someone to talk to.

Matt is survived by his wife Kristi Miles; his daughters Ashley and Sydney Miles; his parents, Skip and

Doris Miles; his brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Suzanne Miles and their two daughters Abby and

Callie.
