Melvin married Donna Moody on August 28, 1966 in Yakima.
He was a WWII veteran, severing as a Marine from 1943 to 1946.
Melvin was a store manager for Wray’s Thriftway and Meads Market also the store owner of Bud’s Serve-U.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Crawford of Yakima; his children, Linda Mills of Portland, OR, Irene Allen of Spokane Valley, WA, Thoma Bond of Selah, Darlene Reichert of Renton WA, Debra Dovel of Yakima, Susan Crawford of Portland, OR, June Crawford and Denise Crawford of Seattle, WA; Seven Grandchildren; Twelve Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.
