

surrounded by family after a 4 year battle with ALS. Michelle was born in Yakima, WA on
10/24/1077 to Jack and Sherry Shaw, growing up in Selah with her sister Mellisa. They enjoyed
camping, showing their horses in 4-H, ran track and cross county Michelle graduating from
Selah High School in 1996. She married the love of her life Brad Worby June 9, 2001 after
dating since 1994. Brad always felt that he was lucky, and had married up to the love of his life.
Michelle went on to Washington State University (Go Cougs!) and graduated with her Bachelors
in Interior Design. She started her career at Pier 1 Imports then moved on to Modern Millwork
Design. Her passion for her job showed and she eventually started to work at Custom Tile
Works in Selah which she worked at until 2019 when her diagnosis of ALS prevented her from
doing what she loved.
Michelle had a passion for life from hiking and running to snow skiing and snowshoeing, a
serious love for shopping, and wine. Above all was her love for watching her son Thomas in all
of his activities and spending a week every summer in July at Twin Lakes with family. When
Michelle was diagnosed with ALS the family was blessed with a caregiver, Iris. There was an
instant connection between her and Michelle. Iris gave a level of care that was unprecedented
and the family can’t thank her enough.
She is survived by her loving husband Brad, son Thomas, father Jack, sister Mellisa, her father
and mother in law Wayne and Louise, sister in law and husband Lisa and Cody as well their
children Emily and Weston. She is preceded by her mother Sherry (Peterson) Shaw. She also
leaves behind several Aunts, Uncles, cousins and a tribe of friends and community of support.
Michelle was a ray of sunshine that can never be replaced.
Michelle’s funeral service will be held at Langevin El Paraiso on 02/25/2023 at 11am. In lieu of
flowers, donations to The Memorial Foundation with designation of Compass Care/End of Life
are appreciated. Memorial Hospice provided an unmatched level of care to Michelle through
their hospice nurses and accompanying staff.
