She taught me a life lesson in 5th grade. I remember she called me in at a recess and asked if I signed my parents name on a bad grade I had in her class. I will never forget that moment. I lied and she knew it. She gave me an earful and to always be truthful I cried because she could be harsh sometimes. As I got older her reminder of “your word is only as good as you are” stuck with me. She definitely helped shape me into who I am now as an adult. My 5th grade class had some naughty students it was like they stuck us all in her class because they knew she could handle us trouble makers. We all came from broken homes but her lectures stuck with me in to adulthood. That was probably one of the most memorable years for me, we had so much fun in her class. As a teacher and coach now, I honor her with doing my best and making a difference with the students I work with. She was a tough lady but with a big heart.
