Nancy L. Toney (Johnston)

Nancy L Toney (Johnston), 80 went to be with her savior on August 2nd, 2019. Nancy was born on February 20th, 1939 in Brockton, Massachusetts daughter of Peter Johnston and Edith (Raymond). She served in the US Army and received an honorable discharge in 1958.

Nancy also served as a minister in a small community church in Ontario California where she was an exceptional organist and played the accordion during service. She also loved to sing hymns and her favorite was old country Christian music.

Her hobbies included crocheting, playing scrabble with her daughters and doing crossword puzzles. Her specialty was writing journals for her grandkids capturing their experiences during their growth. She captured serious moments as well as the funny times and even wrote silly things about their parents that they may have never told their children. The wonderful journals were eventually given to the grandkids for keepsakes.

She is survived by her sister Joanne Johnston from Reno Nevada and her four beautiful daughters: Alice Connolly (William) of Tieton, Rhonda Toney of Victorville Ca, Norma Parton (Charles) of Yakima and Joanna Murphy of Tieton. She also leaves behind grandchildren: Joe Connolly (Traci) of Yakima, Joshua Connolly (Crystal) of Tieton, Jeremiah Connolly (Marissa) of Yakima and Jessica Connolly (Matt) of Moxee, David Adorante (Chelsea) ofFlordia, Daniel Adorante (Kim) of Florida, Michelle Sandell (Stev.e) of California, Samantha Andrews (John) of Seattle, Eric Williams (Maylynn) of Arizona, Sara Parton, Arne Parton, Nina Hoptowit (Jeff) all of Yakima and Abby Pryor (Josh) of Virginia and Heather Murphy of Tieton.

Nancy was a wonderful great grandmother to 30 great grandchildren.

Nancy is preceded in death by husband Ronald Toney and longtime friend David Maas, sister Alice Johnston and brother Peter Johnston.

In lieu of flowers, family ask to consider donating to the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

The family wishes to extend a Thank You to Memorial Hospital and Cottage in the Meadow for the wonderful care you had given to our Mother.
