

He attended St Joseph Marquette then went on to Attended La Salle High School Yakima Graduated in 2010. Nicolas continued his education at Central Washington University graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sciences.
He lived briefly in Kent, Washington while attending college classes, then moved to Ellensburg to complete his degree. Upon graduation he returned to Yakima, WA. Nick worked for SOLA working with Developmentally Disabled Adults as a Behavioral Technician. A job he truly enjoyed. He really cared about the clients and staff.
His absolute favorite activities were baseball, golf and football. He was an avid Seattle sports fan who loved to watch the Mariners, Seahawks and Kraken. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life with friends and family.
He is survived by: Mother: Celia Prieto-Butterfield, Father: Randi M Butterfield,
Sister: Patricia Casas, Brothers: Jeremy (Amanda) Butterfield & David (Dominique) Butterfield, Grandfather: Floyd Butterfield, Grandmother: Zenaida Prieto. Nieces & Nephews: Xavier, Shayla, Jameson, Loreli and Logan.
He was preceded by: Maternal Grandfather: Juan Prieto, Paternal Grandmother: Janice Butterfield (Lange).
Viewing & Rosary Monday September 22 2025 at 4-8pm at Keith and Keith. Funeral Mass Tuesday September 23 at 10am at St Joseph Church Yakima followed by internment at Calvary Cemetery.

Thank you to all who cared so deeply for Nicolas, and the staff at Prosser Memorial Hospital for their care during his stay. Also thank you to the Yakima Fire Department and AMR for their efforts for our son.
