Ollie was born to Hallie and Benjamin Meyer on Sept. 29, 1919 in Blackrock, WA. She attended school in Wapato. On Oct. 12, 1946, she married Walter DeBolt, and they raised their five children in Wapato. In 1966, they were transferred by Oregon Washington Telephone Co. to the Sunnyside office, where they both worked until retirement.
The family grew up loving the out of doors – camping, fishing, clam digging and visiting family. They were members of the Good Sam camping organization, and enjoyed camping trips, including trips to KY and WI to visit their grown, married children and grandchildren. Ollie also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading and gardening, especially her roses and peonies. She was a member of the VFW and Eagles, where she held various offices. Ollie made friends easily and everybody loved her immediately. She was always there ready to do her share in whatever activity she was involved in. She was very straight forward and told it as it was. After the death of her husband, Walt, she moved to Yakima to be near Bonnie and her family and spent her summers in WI and KY with her children there.
Ollie is survived by her sons, Cecil Dillard (Marie) of Wilmore, KY, Noel Dillard (Kathy) of Grand Rivers, KY and Norman Dillard (Sandra) of Bonneville, WA; daughter, Nada Berry of Marinette, WI; son-in-law, Michael Dunaway; brother-in-law, Dale Rohn; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; special friends, Beverly Ice, Barbara Brey and Patricia Downs for their special care and friendship of Ollie in her failing years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Howard Meyer, sister Dorothy Rohn, infant son Clyde Dillard, daughter Bonnie Dunaway, and son-in-law James Berry.
