Pat was born in Menlo, Iowa and moved to Yakima with her mother in the mid-1940s. She was a graduate of Yakima High School where she met her husband to be Dick Ackley, and they married in 1950. Pat and Dick made Naches Heights their home and, on an apple ranch, raised their family of three children. As Dick tended to their apple business, Pat delighted in raising their children and enjoyed her two passions … baking pies, cakes, and cookies for the Family and being creative on her sewing machine.
Pat and Dick shared 73 years of marriage until Dick went on ahead in September, 2023. Pat was fond of traveling and together she and Dick enjoyed frequent travels domestically and abroad, adventurous jeep trips, skiing, and camping in the mountains. Pat also cherished opportunities to celebrate special events with her family … birthdays, holidays, and gatherings for coffee. Family and friends were most important in Pat’s life and socializing with them brought her much joy!
Pat volunteered in the community as an active member of Yakima Junior Aide, Garden Club, Leslie Loudon Hospital Guild, Central Lutheran Church Altar Guild, The Yakima Museum, and her Best Friends Bridge Card Group.
Pat is survived by her two daughters, son Craig (Faith), three grandchildren: Ryker, Tanner (Kari), and Trinda, and two great-grandchildren: Alaura and Ashton. Pat was a kind and loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother to all her children!
If you desire, please donate in Pat’s honor to the: Central Lutheran Church Altar Guild Flower Fund; Love On A Leash-Yakima Valley Chapter; Yakima Humane Society; Alzheimer’s Association; or American Cancer Society.

May She Rest in Everlasting Peace.
