

The family moved to Laramie, Wyoming seeking employment and then later moved back to the area where her father worked on the construction of Rimrock Dam. When that project was completed the family moved again to Port Angeles, Washington.
Pauline spent many happy childhood and teenage years in Port Angeles. She had a life long love of music and as a child displayed a natural gift for music learning the piano by ear. In addition she could play guitar, violin and accordion. Her parents managed to get a piano for her to pursue her interest in music. She began playing the guitar and singing in church services in Port Angeles and later played the piano at other churches she attended for many years.
After her father died her family moved back to Yakima where she met and married Edward Hirning. They had a wonderful life together creating many happy memories while raising their daughter Kathleen. The family enjoyed many days in mountains at their cabin on Chinook Pass.
Pauline loved the Lord and devoted her life to the ministry by playing the piano and singing for a variety of churches such as, The Tabernacle, Summitview Assembly Of God, Gateway Assembly and Bethel Nazarene Church. She also played piano for the Hearts Gospel Group on the radio in the 50’s. On one occasion Pauline played in the Tony Fontaine Gospel Group. Pauline played & sang for many weddings. In all Pauline played the piano for over thirty- seven years in service to the Lord.
Pauline had many other interests. She joined the Ground Observers Corp. She earned her wings and bars for the many hours she logged in. She was very active in politics and served as Precinct Committee Woman. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes for her daughter Kathleen.
After a period of nine years following the death of her first husband she met another wonderful man Wally Sisler and they married on July 2 1998. They spent fourteen happy years together. Pauline and Wally loved to travel. They had many interesting adventures, one was in Banff, British Columbia, where they saw a cow elk coax her calf across the street. There was a herd of elk in town everywhere on lawns & streets. They both love the Lord and all their family and friends. Pauline will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Wally Sisler of Yakima; her daughter, Kathleen (James) Trumbull of Yakima; cousin, Marvin Hill of Yakima; nephews, Ron & Dixie Stenberg of Arlington, WA, Larry Stenberg of Silverdale, OR; step-children, David (Karen) Sisler of Bothell, WA, Jean (Leon) Taylor of Wapato, WA, George Sisler of Bremerton, WA and Judy (Gary) Clinton of Maricopa, AZ; 16 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15th at Keith & Keith Terrace Heights Chapel with burial following at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
