Dear Grandma,
We love and miss you so much! We wish you were still here so you could meet the new addition to the family Luna but it’s ok you’re in a better place and not in pain anymore. I remember a funny memory one time when we came to visit you in Vegas we wanted to go snowboarding so you took us to this hill, we thought we was going snowboarding but you had a blow up tube. We didn’t have a pump so you blew it up with you’re mouth and when you were done I was like “I’m going to ride first”you said no way I’m going first since I blew it up! So we walked up the hill but half way up you said never mind it’s to much walking and handed me the tube I laughed and said ok thank you grandma. It was awesome we rode that tube down the hill all day. That was special memory too me and when we meet in the after life let’s make many more.

I want to say, to Pinkie's ohana, my heartfelt condolences go out to all of you.  I loved Pinkie, and thought of her AND Myra as my two older sisters, I have such beautiful fond memories of days and nights spent at the Huffman hale on Hilinai St.   Growing up with the Huffman siblings was the best, we laughed all the time, and at night in the garage, Myra would play her uke and sing Johnnie Mathis songs, Mrs.  Huffman would play her piano and sing Teddy Randazzo songs, and Mr.  Huffman was the family comedian, always making jokes, he teased us all.  And Pinkie, she was always surrounded by her friends, they were always there, some of them stayed for weeks, some for months, Lenny, Gerry, and a couple more.  I remember her wedding to Ronnie, and the reception held in the back yard.  She was such a beautiful bride, I can still see her now.  And yrs later, Pinkie used to do my taxes for years and would never take any kala.  Then 20 years later, ran into her in a Las Vegas casino where she was working, it was like we never were apart.  To me, she was just as sweet, and thoughtful as she always was, I admired her so much.  I am so so glad I got to spend some time with her this past summer, now I can add those memories to my cherished memories of her when we growing up.   Ahui hou, ei nei, rest in beautiful peace, and love, Pinkie, aloha wa'ea oe.

My dear cousin,  I want your family to know how much you meant to my family.   You taught my mom and dad, Lorraine and Wayne Adams, how to play Pai Gau poker.   They loved that.   You were so much fun when we took  that cake decorating class together.    I will miss your smiles and laughter.  I know you are happy and peaceful in the loving arms of our savior, Jesus Christ.   We will one day be together in eternity.  Say Hi to Mom and Dad, give Jesus a big hug from me.  I will see you heaven my dear cousin.

Memories of my Mom...

My mom was beautiful inside and out. She had the biggest heart. You can ask anyone her knew her and they'd agree. She was kind, loving and nurturing. She would do anything for us. All we had to do was ask.

Never mistake her kindness for weakness though. My mom was a strong woman! When I think back at different times in my life I remember her as being fearless and fierce. She rode the Stratosphere roller coaster in Las Vegas. Not even I would get on that.

My mom loved her family. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Being so far away in Hawaii, we'd sometimes talk with her on video chat. When it was time to end the video chat, she'd blow kisses so hard that you could almost feel it through the phone.

She loved her friends too! And she had MANY. She loved being in their company, and I'm sure they felt the same.

She loved to cook. She would make amazing meals from just leftovers. She liked trying new recipes, and we loved trying all her new dishes. She loved baking too. From cakes to cookies, fudge, and candies. You name it!

And parties... she loved a good party. Never passed up the chance to drink it up with her family and friends. 

My mom was AMAZING. She lived her life to the fullest, with no regrets. It's admirable. I will miss her tremendously. More than I can ever put into words.

My dearest Sister,  you are my beautiful Angel that was always there for my boys and I. I have loved you all my life and looked up too you always because you were such a wonderful person to be around. You taught me how to tie my shoe laces, ride my bike, bake my first cake at 8 years old and to always hold my head up high. I loved spending time with you as often as I could cause I just like being around you.  I loved your cheery attitude, your spunky side of you, always ready to go anywhere just to go. I miss you dearly, Sister and I know you're not suffering anymore.  Just know that I loved you then and I love you still. Till we meet again, Rest In Love my dear Sweet Sister Pinky.

Although you was my mother in law. you are  still my MOM. You was my mom for thirty two years and you always treated me with love. My family and I shared so many fun and happy memories with you and for that I am very grateful to have had you in my life.

        We moved up here to be close to you, We enjoyed everyday we had with you, we did many things together and went many places and loved every minute we spent together. You are my everything Mommy I miss you so much,  I know you are in a better place and you are not suffering anymore. But for me our time was cut to short we should of had many more journeys to go.  Mom we will meet again and continue our journeys together.

Pinky is survived by her loving husband, Larry A. Mattson of Yakima; son Ronnie Uyemura (Sheila), daughters, Sonya Makalii (Lester), Nyree Silva (Pesi) and Pinky Bright (Charlie), stepsons, Lee Mattson (Rhonda) and Loren Mattson (Mercedes); twenty-six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; sisters, Lana Pitzenberger, Billie Keawekane-Beere, and Jackie Darley; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
