Ramanda Rose Simmons Moreno, age 40, of Selah, Washington passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Ramanda was born in Edmonds, Washington on January 22, 1982 to Wendel Rex Simmons and Betty Lou Auch Simmons Ermey.
Ramanda, my beautiful sterling silver rose, was born on an early snowy morning. After her birth, her father was so excited, he spun donuts in the snow under our hospital window. She was always everyone's little helper, always happy, always eager to learn.
In 1995, the family moved from Everett, WA to Wing, ND on a mini farm north of town. She helped raise sheep, chickens, cats and a calf. And yes, she now believed her mother's stories of so much snow that you could walk up on the roof of out buildings. Ramanda learned how to drive on ND country roads, also learned not to get preoccupied trying to find your favorite radio station, causing to roll her car on its roof.
In 1998, we moved to Zillah, WA on a wine grape vineyard. During the summer, Ramanda worked in the vineyard doing suckering and training of new plants. She also enjoyed swimming with friends in the holding ponds after work. Ramanda graduated from Zillah High School in 2000. She then enrolled in a CNA program through the Wapato Nursing Home.
Ramanda brought into this world a beautiful boy, Adan Damien Lopez in November 2000 with her high school sweetheart Julian Lopez.
In 2003 she and her sister Taynea bought a house on W. Viola in Yakima. In December 2007, Ramanda married Tino Moreno, and together they, along with Julian & Maria, raised Adan. She was most proud of being a mother and bragging about Adan's most recent adventures and accomplishments.
Ramanda advanced her work experience to become a manager for WA Home Health Care. She also got her Dealer's License and later worked for Nob Hill Bowl & Casino, where she stayed until the time of her death.
In 2020, Ramanda left her W. Viola home to her son Adan. She moved on to be a major role in the Kasey Benjamin family in Selah. She had a special place in her heart for animals; she was a very proud dog and cat owner and was on speed dial for our local pet rescues.
She was a very special person. She was selfless, kind, and very funny. She had a knack of putting smiles on the face of everyone without even trying. She lived life with a joy and happiness that was infectious. She loved giving to others and making sure her family and friends were always taken care of. She appreciated the small things in life; she loved cooking, watching reality TV, taking care of her plants and flowers and taking trips with family, especially the Oregon Coast. Ramanda touched the heart of everyone she met and she will be greatly missed.
Ramanda leaves behind her son, Adan Damian Lopez; mother, Betty Auch Simmons Ermey (Everett); father, Wendel Rex Simmons; sister, Taynea Simmons Petrie (Christopher); nieces Khira Belle Stephas & Lilli Arika Petrie; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Bennie & Anna Auch, Sam & Virginia Simmons; aunt Lorna Simmons Pingatore; cousin Rodney Auch; great aunt Rosemary & Ralph Weaver; great aunt Ida & Adam Mindt; great uncle Jake Seidler; great uncle Gottlieb & Lorene Seidler.
