

Robert “Bob” Lesh, 76, was surrounded by his loving family when he peacefully passed away on December 8, 2015. Bob was born on March 1, 1939 in Newcastle, Pennsylvania and was the second of four siblings born to Betty and Clarence Lesh.
Bob married Cheril VanGraafeiland on February 17, 1960. They had two children, Robert Daniel Lesh and Sherry Diane (Lesh) Harold. Together they raised their family in Yakima where they owned and operated the Ranch House Restaurant for more than 29 years.
Bob was the epitome of a man’s man. He raced stockcars from 1969 to 1986, accumulating countless trophies, and trading paint with the likes of Bobby Allison, Harry Jefferson, and Don Dowdy. He was a skilled hunter, a proud veteran of the United States Navy, and an avid fisherman.
In his later years, he took great joy in being a grandfather. He was immeasurably proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was particularly close with his granddaughters Cassie Lee (Lesh) Leiseth and Nikole Lynn (Harold) Reed; he shared his love for NASCAR with his grandson, Nathan Robert Harold; and his refrigerator was covered with pictures of his great-grandson, Hunter Nathan Thomas Reed.
A memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Keith and Keith Funeral home, with a reception to follow.
