

Robert Breshears, 87, of Yakima WA, passed away Tuesday, July 7th 2026.
Bob Breshers was born on November 15, 1938. He was raised by his parents Robert C. and Loy Breshears-as well as his Grandma Lydia.
Bob was one of 5 children; siblings Sandy Myers, Jeanie Schaffner, Linda Gutierrez, and Johnny Caldwell made many fond memories together.
Bob attended Naches Valley High school and graduated in 1958.
He was active in sports; playing varsity football as a freshman, and running track. He also excelled in boxing-but at the urging from his wife-he chose to pursue work and his family over furthering his boxing career.
Bob met his wife Georgia and they married on October 2, 1959.
They had 4 children; Dixie (Alan) Withrow, Bobby (Teresa) Breshears, Kathy (Jerry) Mertz, and Pam Breshears.
The family continued to grow with the addition of grandkids: Jennifer, Brittany, Cody, Dylan, Allie, Robert jr, Ashley, Jake, Kylie, Cheyenne, and Briggs.
Bob worked at Boise cascade for several years while pursuing his interest in Beekeeping. In 1972 he decided to become a registered beekeeper and tend bees full time.
Bob stayed active on many bowling teams, and greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his Dad, Son, Grandsons, and his good friend Joe.
Bob’s family made many memories on annual fishing trips in Ilwaco WA, and remember him cooking pancakes on Christmas mornings.
He was preceded in death by his daughter-Pam, his wife-Georgia, his great grandson -Kenneth Rhodes, a grandson-in-law Scott Rhodes, and his parents.
He was survived by his children; Dixie (Alan) Withrow, Kathy (Jerry) Mertz, Robert (Teresa) Breshears. He was also survived by his siblings Sandy Myers, Jeanie Schaffner, Linda Gutierrez, and Johnny Caldwell. In addition to his grandkids, he is also survived by
numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at the Ponderosa and the Terraces Nursing facilities for the care of Bob. The family is also grateful for the care his granddaughter, Ashley Horton, provided him in his final years and final minutes of his fulfilling life. Special Thanks to Dixie for her commitment as well.
Visitation will be held at Keith and Keith Funeral home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima WA 98902 on July 20, 2026 from 3:00-7:00 PM.
A graveside service will take place at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, 3001 Terraces Heights Dr, Yakim
