Born in Morrow County, Oregon on October 15 of 1924 to Ellen Bergstrom and Archie Cochran. Bob was orphaned at age 2 and raised by his paternal Aunt and Uncle, Opal and Rueben Holeman, in Yakima. He lived a full and wonderful life and continued working well into his 70’s. Bob was a collegiate basketball player, a US Naval officer and WW II Veteran. He was an avid sports fan following all the exploits of the Naches Rangers and the WSU Cougars. Season ticket holders for WSU Football for 46 years and proudly missing only 4 home games in all that time. His favorite years were spent on the farm in Gleed with his wife Joan, raising their young family. Bob passed away peacefully in Yakima, WA., March 7, 2026, at the age of 101. He was most recently a resident of HighGate Senior Living. His loving wife of 77 years Jody, was able to be at his side. Survived also by his son’s Paul and Steven and his daughter Cynthia, their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. No services will be conducted at his request.
