

He was the first born child of his parents John and Julie Hurt in Kirkland, WA on May 10, 1954. Roc graduated from Quincy High School in 1973.
Roc was a true cowboy who enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a cattle rancher in the Yakima Valley for over 40 years. He loved to share his cowboy knowledge with everybody. He worked at Coastal Farm & Ranch in Yakima for the last 15 years.
Roc is survived by his three sons, Allen (Tracy) Hurt of Prosser, Tad (Moryaha) Hurt of Selah and Bryan Hurt of Benton City, grandchildren: Cody, Ethan, William, Callie, Shae, Gracyn, Harlow, and Wiley, his mom Julie Hurt-Quirk, sister Pennie (Gary) Omlin, and brother Buck (Pam) Hurt. He is preceded in death by his father John Hurt.
The family wishes to express a very heartfelt thank you to David Pittman for being such an amazing friend to our dad/grandpa. It brings us comfort to know you ALWAYS had his back. Roc couldn’t have asked for a better best friend.
A memorial service for Roc will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902.
