He was born May 2, 1931 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Thomas W. Cornett and Loudale Cornett. He attended school in Carlsbad and graduated from Carlsbad High School.
Roy lived in the Yakima area for many years and was an orchardist.
He was in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954, and was honorably discharged after serving in the Korean conflict
Roy is survived by his brothers, Robert T. Cornett (Doris) of Kelso, WA and Tim W. Cornett (Charen) of Yakima; sister, Dell Marie (George) Shae of Wenatchee, WA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents Thomas W. Cornett and Loudale Cornett.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday November 13, 2010, at West Hills Memorial Park.
