Born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to John and Murl Scraper, Sally married Mike Frausto in 1968 in Watsonville, California. Together, they had three children: Janell, Jonathan, and Jennifer. After their divorce in 1987, Sally eventually returned to Washington and settled in Yakima in 1990.
Sally was known for her incredible strength, honesty, humor, and unwavering love for her family. She never sugarcoated things, but her honesty always came from a place of love. She enjoyed chocolate, birthday cake, reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, flowers, and cheering on her beloved Seattle Seahawks. Her family will always remember her serious expressions, the way she looked over her glasses, and her unforgettable laughter.
Sally is survived by her sister, Beth Scraper Evans; her children, Janell Landen (Paul Landen), Jonathan Frausto, and Jennifer Dawson (Jay Dawson); her grandchildren, Dylan Cox, Lane “Bubba” Cox, Grant Cox, Christian Frausto, Adeline Frausto, and Jaden Frausto; and her great-grandchild, Leighton Cox.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Murl Scraper; her brothers, Charlie Bryant and Sonny Bryant; her sisters, Betty Hughart and Vetta Bryant; and her nephews, Mike Hughart, Billy Hughart, and Buzz Hughart; niece Nadene Pemberton.
At the end of the day, no matter what, Sally loved you. And that love will remain with the people who were lucky enough to know it for the rest of their lives.
Sally Jane Frausto’s life will be honored at a Memorial Service on August 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902, US.
