She was born Sharon Haight on February 29, 1936 in Yakima, WA.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years and high school sweetheart, Frank Fitterer; son Bruce Fitterer (Sally Aiken) of Spokane; daughters Jenifer Schultz (Rod Schultz) and Joan Kirk (Greg Kirk) of Yakima and Catherine Wilbert (Michael Wilbert) of Covington, WA; her sister Charlotte McCaw (Clyde McCaw) of Post Falls, ID; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Having graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1954, Sharon shared many lifelong friendships with her classmates, members of her church (Holy Family Parish) and those with whom she served on many charities.
Sharon worked as a school librarian, safe deposit box custodian and did the bookkeeping for her husband’s custom home business. She was a talented decorator and loved to make beautiful flower arrangements. Retirement was spent traveling to multiple states with Frank in their motor home, trips to Germany, Jamaica and New York City and coffee with friends after church at McDonald’s.
Funeral services for Sharon will be held at Holy Family Chapel, 5315 Tieton Drive, Yakima, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. The family is also hosting a celebration of life for Sharon at the Women’s Century Club, 304 N. 2nd Street, Yakima on Saturday, May 5, 2018, anytime between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.
