Steven Loyd Kesterson

Steve "Steven Loyd" Kesterson, 67, passed away at home on November 9, 2023, in Yakima, WA. He was born on July 18, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa. Steve was a loving spouse to Susan Kesterson and a devoted father to Loie Kesterson. He was also a proud father-in-law to Robert W. Otto and a doting grandfather to Avery M. Otto. Steve is survived by his father-in-law, Warren Vander Linden, as well as a sister-in-law and her spouse, Jane and Max Davis, a brother-in-law and his spouse, Wayne and Nancy Vander Linden. Other relatives include several nieces and nephews, Lori and Craig Wheeler, Brian and Kristin Griffiths. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, as well as his sister and brother.

Steve had a big passion for vehicles, both old and new and enjoyed spending his time indulging in this hobby. His biggest joy was raising his daughter and watching her play fastpitch. Steve was also an avid animal lover; he and his wife Susan raised and rescued many dogs and cats throughout the years making them part of their family. He graduated from Waukee High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors.

Services to celebrate Steve's life will be held at a later date in Iowa, where he will be reunited with his loved ones. The funeral home in charge of arrangements is located in WA.

In this time of mourning, we remember Steve's presence, his love for his family, and his passion for vehicles and his pets. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace.
