Terry Kent Lai, 69, passed away on November 15th, 2018 in Yakima, WA surrounded by his family. He was born on July 9th, 1949 in Boise, Idaho. He was the youngest of 3 children born to Harry and Margie Lai (Peterson). He was a young boy when his family moved from Idaho to Washington.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as a machine gunner and served in the Vietnam War. Terry attended Perry Technical School and graduated in auto body mechanics. Terry and Betty welcomed their daughter Tarra, she was his biggest accomplishment. He was a loving father, husband, brother, uncle, friend and father figure to many. He was a giving man who loved life and gatherings. He was a patriotic man who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, shooting, camping, swimming and building hot rods. He loved spending time with his family, extended family and friends.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Margie Lai, his brother Martin Lai and grandparents.
He is survived by his daughter Tarra and her mother Betty, his sister Diane Barham (Paul Barham) and countless nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Visitation is November 30th, 2018 at Keith and Keith Funeral Home, address is 1010 W. Yakima Ave., from 4 pm - 7 pm. Service is December 1st, 2018 at Keith and Keith Funeral Home at 1 pm, followed by a reception at the VFW, address is 118 S. 5th Avenue.
