

Thelma Beattrice Emmons, 102, departed this life peacefully on March 28, 2013 in Bellevue, WA. Thelma was a long time Yakima resident, until she moved to Bellevue, WA with her daughter in 2004. Through the years she found joy in cooking, knitting and entertaining for her family and friends.
Thelma was also a long time member of Mt. Hope Baptist Church, where she was a Mother of the Church, a member of the Senior Choir and the Women’s Missionary Society. Thelma was also a founding member of the Elite Hobby– Ite Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert F. Emmons and her son Robert F. Emmons, Jr.
Thelma is survived by her daughter Marita Potter (Harvey) Bellevue, WA; grandchildren Deborah Drake, Shari Watts and Robert Potter (Carol); nephews William Gaskins Jr. (Felicia) and Walter Gaskins (Yoshiko); great Grandchildren Gregory Potter, Janelle Montgomery (Tristan), Alyssa Watts, Asha Potter, and Isaiah Potter, and great-great granddaughter Nehemiah Potter.
Visitation will be offered Friday, April 5, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, 1010 West Yakima Ave, Yakima. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Yakima on Saturday April 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Final committal will follow immediately at West Hills Memorial Park.
