Tim was raised on Naches Heights and graduated from Highland High School in 1972. While in high school, he greatly enjoyed wrestling and competed in many district and state meets. As a young boy he learned first hand from his parents and grandparents the art of apple farming. As the family business grew into Evans’ fruit, Tim began working for the family company driving trucks and hauling fruit. A few years later, he met his wife and life partner, Barb. Together they raised a daughter and a son and the four of them spent many family outings enjoying one another in the great outdoors. His career in farming continued when he began a partnership with his brother Greg in 1983 in Outlook, Washington on the ranch of Sage Ridge Orchards. Tim continued to expand the ranch after the death of his brother in 1990. In 1995, he and his family moved to Outlook so Tim could be closer to his work as an orchardist in the Sunnyside area. He was an active partner with Evans’ Fruit Company and worked closely with his parents managing the Evans’ orchard entities, primarily the Rattlesnake and Mattawa orchards. Recently, Tim and Barb returned to Naches Heights to be closer to their children and families. His entire life, Tim loved steelhead fishing with his extended family and friends on the Klickitat River as well as fly fishing many other places in the Northwest and Canada. He was an avid bird hunter who enjoyed time spent with his hunting partners and his experiences spent with his hunting dogs. Snowmobiling was another of his passions which he began in high school and continued until the final winter of his life.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Barb Evans; daughter, Kimberly (Andy) Hiebert; son, Joseph Evans and granddaughter, MacKenzie Faith Hiebert. He is also survived by his parents, Bill and Jeanette Evans; sister, Vicky Loges; sister, Julie (Russ) Jasper; brother, Jon Eric; father and mother-in-law, Bud and Jean Larson; sister-in-law, Connie (Lynn) Harris; brother-in-law, Kevin (JulieBeth) Larson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tim is preceded in death by his grandparents; his brother Greg and brother-in-law Andrew Gartlan.
