Our dear mom, Venita Kaluza Crawford passed away on January 9, 2025. She was born in Yakima, WA on June 27, 1920, to John and Myrtle Meikle. Venita went to St. Paul’s Catholic School and graduated from Yakima High School which is now Davis High School.
Venita lived a wonderful full life. In 1946 she married her first husband George Kaluza. They had four children. She lost her beloved George to a long-term illness. In 1984 she married Ralph Crawford. She gained two stepdaughters Sue and Sarene. Venita and Ralph came to live at Crescent Health Care May 19, 2012. In April of the next year, she would also lose Ralph to a long-term illness. Sincere thanks to the staff at Crescent for their kindness and loving care.
Many hours were given to helping others. They included the Memorial Hospital, St. Vincent's food bank and the Harmon Center. She was always busy crocheting dish towels and washcloths for everyone she knew. She was known for her unwavering faith, kind spirit and beautiful smile.
She is survived by son Keith Kaluza and Roberta. George Kaluza (deceased) and Billie Kaluza. Daughters Karen Kaluza and Kim and Dave White. Grandchildren Amy and Scott Wangler, Melanie and Jeff McGuire, Alex Kaluza, Jenna and Jeff Liddicoat, Stacy and Matt Wangler. Seven wonderful great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be held on January 31, 2025, at 10:00 am at Holy Family Chapel, 5315 Tieton Drive, Yakima, WA 98902. Followed with a Graveside Service at Calvary Cemetery, 1405 S. 24th Ave, Yakima, WA 98902.
