

Walter R. Turner, 81, Master Plumber over 45 years and Amsoil Dealer for 35 years completed his final “Mission Trip”, Feb 5, 2016, in Edmonds, WA. He grew up on a farm in Iowa, with an appreciation for tractors. Following high school, he moved to DeWitt County, Illinois for a job. He also worked for Barney’s Produce and General Cable Corp. In 1953, he met and married Margaret E Radley and established his family. After 2 consecutive vacations to Seattle, he moved his family to Snohomish County, WA in 1966. Shortly thereafter, he had the opportunity to learn the plumbing trade. In 1976-77, he and Margaret moved to Selah. Eventually, EZ Plumbing came into existence. In the past, he had participated in Habitat for Humanity Projects and would still occasionally do service calls, wherever he was. His plumbing license was due to expire May this year. Tonga 4, Argentina 2, Peru 1,Canada 2, California 2, and Deer Park, WA 3, were his 14 earthly “Mission Trip” destinations.
His involvement with Amsoil Synthetic Products came about when Mt St. Helens erupted in May 1980. He wanted special filters for the cars and it became a business. He was a long time active member of Selah Church of the Nazarene. Many hours were spent pulling goat weed, watering, mowing, and building maintenance, as well as a board member. When he was at home, he enjoyed organic gardening, watching RFDTV tractor shows, Southern Gospel Christian Music shows, family gatherings, and his old cars. He was known as “Uncle Bear” by his nieces and nephew.
Walter is survived by his wife, Margaret of 62 yrs., daughter Janelle, son Jim, granddaughter Crystal Hanson, grandson John Turner, 2 great granddaughters Raelynn Lampkin and Madison Hanson. He is also survived by a brother Leslie Turner, St. Ansgar, IA, a sister Florence Fisher (Richard) Marshalltown, IA, a sister Edee Boelman (James) West Union, IA, a sister Joyce Young (David) Eldora, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Tova Rae Lampkin.
Visitation will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home Friday, February 26, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Keith & Keith Funeral Home Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1:00. A Graveside Service will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery in Lynwood, Washington, on Monday, February 29, 2016.
