Willa Bee Reed

Willa Bee Reed was born February 2, 1924 in Washburn, Missouri to William and Myrtle Lawrence. She passed away on February 29, 2016. She married Arlo Jack Reed in May of 1942. Jack and Willa came to Yakima in 1943, then moved to Richland, WA in 1948, and returned to Yakima that same year. They lived the rest of their lives here in Yakima.

She worked as a bookkeeper at a family business until retirement in 1990.

Willa is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Gloria Reed; three granddaughters, Brenda Bruner, Jennifer Reed, Robin Chapman, and 4 great grandchildren. Willa had five sisters: Thelma, Ruth, Freda, Jessie and Opel. Jessie Wilson, of Witchita, Kansas is still living.

Willa loved gardening, crocheting and knitting, and loved to take long walks.

The family wishes to appreciate the kind staff at Highgate, Chesterley Meadows, and Cottage in the Meadow for their assistance with Mom.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Keith & Keith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Keith & Keith Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10:30 a.m; Interment to immediately follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
