

Scarborough- Adeline Alma Nickerson, 86, of Yarmouth, passed at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a brief illness on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, with her son Timothy by her side. She was born May 7, 1928 the only child of Earl & Hazel (Coffin) Norton. She grew up in Brunswick graduating from BHS
in 1946. She married Kaye Nickerson in 1947 and they made their home in Yarmouth.
She was a Boy Scout Pack leader and Cub Scout Den Mother when her sons were young, having many Pack and Den meetings at her home. She was past president of Yarmouth Junior Woman's League. She went to work at UNUM in the 1970's and worked there until her retirement in 1989. Adeline loved her family and home in Yarmouth. She loved fried clams from the clam festival, a tradition as long as family can remember. She enjoyed watching the fireworks from the festival at her home in later years. She became an avid fan of the Boston Celtics and was a Nascar fan. She was able to tell you each of the players and statistics, and which car belonged to which driver. She will be greatly missed by family.
She was predeceased by her Husband Kaye, and her sons Stephen and Wayne. She is survived by her son Timothy and wife Kathleen of New Gloucester, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 4-6 PM at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth Maine. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 2 PM with Pastor Joe Campbell, officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth in the spring.
