Boston – Ann Marie Sitzmann, 66, of Concord, MA passed from this life to the next on Wed Sept 21, 2011. She was born on July 5, 1945 in Bayonne, NJ, the eldest of nine children of William F. and Helen (Ferry) Folger. She was a graduate of Holy Family Academy in Bayonne and later graduated from the Bayonne Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked at St. Luke’s Medical Center in New York City and while in Maine in the neonatal unit of Maine Medical Center in Portland.
From 1987 to 2009 Ann Marie was at the Middlesex School in Concord, MA where she served as Assistant Dean of Students, Director of Community Service, Peabody Residence Head of House and a member of the Admissions Team. Through the years she demonstrated integrity in all of her relationships and responsibilities. She was a woman of spontaneity, gentleness, dignity, grace and talent who had a natural ability to bring out the most important qualities of others.
A spiritual woman of quiet faith she found her center in the wellbeing of others. This was demonstrated in her social planning skills and her epicurean delights. Ann Marie also loved music, sports, the NY Giants (she has six brothers) and sailing the coast of Maine with her husband Tom.
Ann Marie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Thomas G. Sitzmann of Concord, MA; her son Thomas G. G. Sitzmann and his wife Julia and their children, Thomas W. and Julia Ann of Annapolis, MD; her parents William and Helen Folger of Bayonne, NJ; her siblings: William F. Folger, Jr., Jeanne Demcsak, Mary Folger, James Folger, Robert Folger, David Folger, Thomas Folger and Michael Folger.
There will be the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday September 24, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 326 Main Street, Yarmouth, ME.
