

Falmouth, ME - Beatress Timms, 89, died Nov. 11, 2011, at Sedgewood Commons. She was born Oct. 13, 1922 to Aaron Howard Pinkston and Ada McClellan Pinkston, the sixth of their eight children.
She graduated from East High School in Akron. She had a varied work history, including Polsky's Department store, Goodyear Aerospace where she was involved in the construction of Corsair airplanes, City Hospital in medical records, in the office of Dr. Glenn Waddle, and Butler Brothers in Hudson.
Beatress married David Timms on May 2, 1943. They had two children, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
Beatress was a devout Christian and devoted to family. She was part of the founding group and served faithfully at Judson Baptist Church in Tallmadge, as a Sunday school teacher, deaconess, choir member. She also sang in The Fall Festival Chorus for a few years. She was happiest spending time with her extended family, particularly if there were children about. Beatress was always willing to help others - child or elder care, meals, running errands, helping with cleaning, renovating, and donated faithfully to many missions and other Christian organizations. She listened to Christian radio and was particularly fond of hearing both music, and solid Biblical teaching. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Beatress enjoyed canning and freezing food and cooking.
Handwork was her creative outlet: sewing, ceramic painting, crocheting, quilting, cross stitch, embroidery and crewel work. She had a wonderful sense of humor, a quick and easy laugh. Beatress loved getting things done; she thrived on projects and was greatly satisfied when a job was finished. She had an eye for color and decorating, and collected antique furniture and dishes.
Beatress was predeceased by her parents, A.H. and Ada Pinkston, her brothers Coleman Pinkston, Delbert Ray Pinkston, her sisters, Clementine Bennett, Nina Shaffer, and husband David Timms. She is survived by her son Larry Timms and wife Ruth of El Cajon, CA., daughter Valerie Taylor and husband Steve of Freeport, ME; grandchildren David W. TImms of El Cajon, CA, Susan Martin, her husband Garrett and children Aeryn and Hannah of Freeport, IL, Matthew Taylor and wife Julie of Peru, ME, Geoffrey Taylor of Freeport, ME; sisters Violet VanLear of Tallmadge, Glodean Kamerer and brother Clyde Pinkston both of Stow, OH, sisters-in-law Velda Pinkston and Donna Pinkston, and Betty Pinkston, along with many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at Lindquist Funeral Home in Yarmouth, ME, Tues. Nov. 15 at 7 pm, with burial in the near future at Tallmadge City Cemetery, and a memorial service for both Beatress and David to be held at a later date in Tallmadge, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries in Akron, OH.
