Despina Battis Pazar

Newburyport, MA/Kennebunk, ME - Despina Pazar, 81, our beloved mother died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Gorham, ME. Dusty, as she was known to all, was born on December 1, 1933 in Newburyport, MA to Stasos and Anna Battis of Olive Street. Dusty was the only girl of four children. She was predeceased by her oldest brother, Socrates Battis, and her younger brother John Battis. She is survived by her older brother, Constantine Battis.

Dusty was a graduate of Newburyport High School and the Lynn Burdett Academy of Boston. In 1957, she married Emmanuel S. Pazar of Boston. She lived in Arlington, MA for 28 years, followed by 16 years in Kennebunk, ME. Dusty is survived by her three children and seven grandchildren: Steven E. Pazar and his wife Janet of Boxford, MA and their children Allison C. Pazar–Sarno of Boston, MA and Jon E. Pazar of Limington, ME; Christopher E. Pazar and his wife Anne Marie and their children Dustin J. Pazar, Isabelle T. Pazar, Timothy E. Pazar and Harrison P. Pazar, all of Yarmouth, ME; and Stacey Pazar Huth and her daughter Emma C. Pazar, both of Yarmouth, ME. Dusty was predeceased by her husband Emmanuel in 1979 and her son-in-law Thomas C. Huth in 1993.

Visiting hours will be on Friday January 2, 2015 from 11AM - 1PM at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME. The funeral service will be on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Harris Street, Newburyport, MA with an hour visitation in church prior.
