

Portland – Diane Elizabeth Baunach-Ruggiero of Yarmouth, ME died unexpectedly Monday January 17th, 2011 at Maine Medical Center. She was born in Long Island, NY April 18, 1943 to Edward and Elizabeth Ganly. Diane was raised in Essex, England and attended the London School for Girls. She returned to New York with her family to graduate from Garden City High School.
Diane pursued her interests in the medical field as a lab technician and medical assistant. In the 80’s she changed her career to a life insurance agent for New York Life in Manhattan and also in Portland, ME. She left New York Life after moving to Yarmouth, ME when she went back into the medical field at Maine Medical Center for 10 years until she retired.
Diane loved to read, pray and spend time with family and friends. She was empathetic, warm and kind. Her last loving act was to be an organ donor.
Diane is survived by her husband Joseph; her daughter Julie; her step-daughter Jenny; her step-sons Joe, Kenny, Scott and eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her father Edward and his wife Mabel Ganly; her brother Pastor Austin and his wife Marlene Ganly and their five children.
