Donald Francis Fredriksen
September 5, 1942 – February 11, 2021
Donald Francis Fredriksen of Falmouth, Maine passed away on February 11, 2021. He is the son of the late Oscar and Margaret (LaRose) Fredriksen. He is a graduate of Falmouth High School and Southern Maine Community College (Hotel and Hospitality Management).
Donald enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed for four years at the Topsham Air Force Base here in Maine. Winning many awards as an excellent marksman, he was chosen to be the attaché to the Commander of the base and traveled all over the world during the Vietnam War. Donald had been employed by Skillins Greenhouses, Cudahy Meat Packing Company, Manager of McDonalds, retiring from Boise Cascade, Mead Paper Company.
He is survived by his sister, Carol Fredriksen, his son, Michael Fredriksen and his wife Nichole and granddaughters Natalie and Arianna Fredriksen. He is reunited with his twin sister, the late Dorothy Fredriksen who passed away last February. Donald enjoyed sailing with his long time friend, since childhood, Walter Libby, also of Falmouth. Most recently, he enjoyed the company of the dedicated staff at Maine Veteran's Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Martyr's Church, Falmouth, ME. on Thursday, February 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Family and close friends are invited to attend. Please be cognizant of the current social distancing and mask wearing procedures.
Burial will take place in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery, in the family lot.
